Capital Gains Tax
CGT is a tax paid on a capital gain or profit made on the disposal of an asset. It is the chargeable gain that is taxed and not the full amount received.
The chargeable gain is usually the difference between the price paid for the asset and the price it is disposed for.
CGT is paid by the person making the gain. Contact us to claim your reliefs.
Capital Acquisitions Tax
CAT is a tax on gifts and inheritances received. Gifts and inheritances can be received up to a fixed value over a lifetime before CAT is payable. When CAT is due, currently a rate of 33% is charged.
The disponer is the person who gives you the gift or inheritance.
The Beneficiary is the person who receives the gift or inheritance.
Gifts become inheritances if the disponer dies within two years of giving the gift.
Income Tax
Income tax is a tax that the government imposes on income generated by businesses and individuals within Ireland. By law, taxpayers must file an income tax return to Revenue annually to determine their tax obligations.
Corporation Tax
Companies resident in Ireland are obliged to pay Corporation Tax on their worldwide profits. Non-resident companies trading through an agency or branch in Ireland must also pay Corporation Tax in Ireland.
